Following a series of deluxe edition releases last year, leading to their first visit to Australia in January, the band have returned with their 6th studio album - their first since 2011's soundtrack record 'Silent Running' and their first album 'proper' since 2010's 'We Were Exploding Anyway.'
The first single 'Prisms' is a pulsating beats-meets-post-rock exploration of another new facet to the '65 sound'. Blending dance-floor-pop grooves with epic, shimmering soundscapes, the unique and powerful sound of the band is altogether evident on the track.
A few words about the new record from the band…
'Wild Light' is a 65daysofstatic that 65daysofstatic never thought they'd be. It doesn't matter what you think you know about 65daysofstatic – all that matters is to listen. If it sings to you, let is. If it repels you and must be exorcised from turntable or CD player, sent to trash, deleted, command Q for all time – let it.
Formed in 2001, 65daysofstatic quickly established themselves as an influential electronic-rock exponent, combining elements of post-rock and EDM to form a unique hybrid sound.
The success of 2004 debut The Fall Of Math and its follow up One Time For All Time earned the band a personal invitation to support The Cure on their 2007-09 arena tour around the world and since then they have enhanced their incredible live reputation with hundreds of shows across the US, Europe and Asia. Their incredible work ethic was recognised with the band winning 'Hardest Working Band' at the 2012 AIM Awards.
In 2012, the band forged a firm friendship with Australian instrumental band sleepmakeswaves, which saw the bands remix each other's work and tour Australia together in January 2013. 65daysofstatic & sleepmakeswaves will again tour together across the UK & Europe from September through November this year, on a massive 37-date run of shows.
'WILD LIGHT' is in stores November 1st through Bird's Robe Records/MGM
