APE MACHINE Gearing Up For West Coast Tour Dates

Portland, Oregon's APE MACHINE is sowing their seeds by continuing an onslaught of regional touring of the urban wastelands of the U.S. West Coast!

The quartet that admittedly is "out to melt faces and pound the apathy out of otherwise jaded listeners" is eager to bring the live Machine back to stages, and show the masses what hard and heavy music is supposed to do to the senses. APE MACHINE is revisiting some frequent haunts of past West Coast tours all in the support of the band's critically-acclaimed Ripple Music debut, Mangled By The Machine, and this time playing in the coveted opening slot in San Diego for UK's monsters of retro rock, Orange Goblin!

"We've been home for a month now, and though it's been great to work on writing new songs, we're all hungry to back out and rock some more!" Stated guitarist Ian Watts on the bands mind set for getting back on the road, "One of the dates on this run is with Orange Goblin, who we shared the stage with at Freak Valley Festival in Germany. Those guys kick ass so we're looking forward to rocking with them again!"

APE MACHINE, Ripple Music and DeadRhetoric.com have conspired to give one lucky winner a copy of Mangled By The Machine on CD and vinyl LP. The contest remains open through Friday, October 4. Enter to win at www.DeadRhetoric.com.

Mangled By The Machine was released in early May of 2013 by Ripple Music, and is distributed throughout the North America through Nail/Allegro Distribution, the UK through Code 7, and Continental Europe through Clearspot International.

"I never thought I'd find a stoner-rock group that will appeal to fans of The Sword and Whitesnake, but here it is. No seeds or stems, either." -Tucson Weekly

"Blending equal parts rock 'n' roll, blues, stoner rock and psychedelia, Ape Machine is a band whose heart is steeped in the rich musical history of the late '60s and '70s. That doesn't mean they're some kind of hippie dippy throwback band. Ape Machine delivers their material with heavy metal muscle..."- Noisecreep.com

A true four-piece, Portland, Oregon's APE MACHINE has been called "a rock and roll band with a finger on the pulse of the 70's and their asses firmly in the present" and "real heavy-psych for the iPhone generation" that delivers "true guts and glory rock and roll." Combining psychedelic, classic and progressive rock with arena-worthy metal, bluesy stoner-rock and catchy riffs in odd signatures, APE MACHINE's music carries an organic depth and warmth rarely heard since the time of rock's glorious early years (or your Dad's bad ass record collection) infused with an exceptional modern sensibility. Having finished up a short Southwestern and West Coast U.S. jaunt with Austrian retro-rock sensation, Been Obscene, APE MACHINE is preparing to take their laser precision, yet frenzied live show to Europe in late May (including dates with the much vaunted Orange Goblin) in support of their brand new album, Mangled By The Machine.

Mangled By The Machine was released in May 2013 through Ripple Music. The album was recorded and mixed by Tony Lash at Supernatural Sound in Oregon City, Oregon, and in typical, unique APE MACHINE fashion, the album was recorded as one long continuous track in one take. Broken into ten individual chapters, Mangled By The Machine is an angry conceptual piece of music that takes a cue from the masters of the 70's progressive masters, yet reflects the immediacy of the chaotic world all around us.
