The 3 CD set comprises both the 2012 Icelandic version, 'Dyrd í dauðathogn' – the original album that made him a folk hero back home and the English-language version, 'In The Silence', plus a 3rd CD of rarities and previously unheard material including Dot Major (London Grammar) and Liam Howe remixes of 'King and Cross'.

The past year has of course seen Ásgeir's extraordinary domestic popularity translate far beyond Iceland's shores, the Top 40 UK success of 'In The Silence's repeated in in France, Holland, Belgium & Denmark upon its release in January ('Dyrd í dauðathogn' was  released in the Nordic countries back in February 2013 and received a nomination for the Nordic Music Prize). As word spread and venues grew ever larger, lead reviews and features in international titles such as The Sunday Times, The Guardian, Die Spiegel and Le Monde followed.

In March this year Columbia Records issued 'In The Silence' in North America to widespread critical acclaim, and Ásgeir tours cast an ever wider net, with sustained touring not just across Europe and the US, but a return to Japan for Fuji Festival and on to Australia (where the album went Top 10 and his upcoming shows had sold out far in advance of his arrival there). In July Ásgeir played Latitude Festival - his first UK appearance since April's tour, dates that culminated with a heart-stopping show at the Union Chapel.

Born and raised in the hamlet of Laugarbakki (population, 48) in the wilds of Iceland, at just 20 years of age, the release of Dyrd í dauðathogn made Ásgeir a household name almost overnight, breaking all records to become the fastest and biggest selling debut album by a home grown artist - outselling even (label mate) Björk and Sigur Rós' debuts. Staggeringly, 10% of the Icelandic population now own the album.

Produced by Gudmundur Kristinn Jonsson, in Iceland the unusual poetry of Dyrd í dauðathogn attracted almost as much attention as the music itself. Combining both electronic and organic elements with gossamer r'n'b production touches, the songs are light and vibrant, inset with Ásgeir's distinctively melancholic voice.
